WHO WE ARE

Community Health Alliance

Community Health Alliance (CHA) is a Kericho-based, non-profit organization established in April 2024 by a group of long-term residents who share a deep commitment to improving the quality, accessibility, and sustainability of healthcare in Kericho County and the surrounding region.

Officially registered with the Government of Kenya on 9th April 2024, CHA was born out of years of planning, consultation, and reflection on the healthcare challenges facing local communities. While our registration marked an important milestone, it also signaled the beginning of a long-term, multi-decade commitment to strengthening healthcare systems for present and future generations.

Our Strategic Focus Areas

We invest in the development and upgrading of healthcare facilities, physical infrastructure, and supporting systems. This includes modern patient care spaces, diagnostic capabilities, and the integration of information technology such as Electronic Medical Records (EMR) to improve efficiency, continuity of care, and patient experience.

CHA works closely with doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals to support their growth and sustainability. Our initiatives include:

  • Targeted investment in medical equipment and technology

  • Support for EMR adoption and digital transformation

  • Salary guarantees and loan facilities to assist new providers

  • Recruitment and placement of specialists to address gaps in care

  • Direct employment of healthcare professionals where necessary to meet community needs

We collaborate with local civic organizations, businesses, and philanthropic partners to address systemic healthcare challenges. Guided by the principle that “a rising tide lifts all boats,” we aim to build a coordinated ecosystem where resources, knowledge, and effort are shared for collective impact.

Sustainable healthcare requires well-trained professionals. CHA supports medical education through:

  • Scholarship opportunities

  • Advocacy for stronger local training programs

  • Hosting continuing medical education (CME) activities

  • Facilitating knowledge exchange between practitioners

Our long-term vision includes the establishment of a high-functioning, non-profit multispecialty hospital that will serve as a center of excellence for Kericho County and neighboring regions. This hospital will be designed to deliver patient-centered, affordable, and specialized care while upholding the highest clinical and ethical standards.
